  1. Market and demand read. Look at freight corridor traffic, existing wash capacity nearby, and the general vehicle mix passing the area, to judge whether the area plausibly supports another facility.
  2. Physical site screening. Walk or map the parcel against a rough bay-and-queue layout for the wash format under consideration, checking turning radius and stacking room first, since these are the hardest constraints to work around later.
  3. Utility and infrastructure check. Confirm water supply volume, wastewater discharge capacity or the feasibility of on-site pretreatment, and available electrical service, ideally by contacting the utility providers directly rather than assuming capacity.
